Select the bullets in the list by clicking a bullet. Once you reach the end of the line, Word will automatically arrange your text so that only the first line contains that 0.5' space. This inserts a standard indent, which is 0.5' wide. Changing the position of the bullets in a list, or the spacing between the bullets and text involves fine-tuning the bullet indents. You can do this by double-clicking the file on your computer.
